Hypnobirthing is a method you can use to prepare for childbirth.
You prepare for every single big event in your life, you spend years preparing for your wedding, so why wouldn't you prepare for the birth of your child? (I wish I'd read this before my first birth!)
Hypnobirthing aims to create a calm and relaxed birthing experience for you, and it does this by combining self-hypnoses, relaxation techniques, breathing techniques and education about physiological birth.
We work on the principle that fear and tension can lead to pain and complications in childbirth. So by teaching you to make use of self hypnoses and breathing techniques, you'll be able to enter a state of deep relaxation which should help in relieving anxiety and helping you have a more comfortable birth.
In my classes I provide you and your birthing partner with information about the birthing process, the physiological changes that occur during labour, the birthing hormones, stages of birth and coping strategies.
This knowledge will empower you to help you make informed decisions about your birth preferences.
I also teach relaxation techniques including self hypnoses, deep breathing and visualisations. I provide you with all the MP3s to practice all the techniques at home. These help you enter a state of deep relaxation and therefore reduce any tension and help you manage birth sensations more effectively.
I actively encourage the involvement of birth partners, and teach them how to provide physical, emotional and practical support during birth which is invaluable!
Hypnobirthing doesn’t mean you need to give birth in a lake with no pain relief, it is not just breathing and nobody is going to make you behave like a chicken. Hypnobirthing is for all people and all births. And I’m so excited to show you how.
